Foxglove Australian Shepherds is a small hobby breeder located outside of Pittsburgh, PA. The focus of our program is producing well-rounded performance Aussies that excel in companion sports while maintaining the balance and moderation that the standard calls for. Our Aussies are dual registered with AKC and ASCA. All of our puppies keep their tails and dew claws.
Our puppies are raised by the same principles of Puppy Culture and other similar protocols that have been used by reputable breeders for decades. We follow Early Neural Stimulation (ENS) and expose our puppies to a variety of sounds, smells (ESI), textures, objects, and situations as they grow with us. To the best of our ability, we document these steps for future puppy owners. All of our dogs live inside our home. During their time with us, our puppies will socialize with their dam and our other canine residents, myself and my husband, as well as a rotating cast of friends and family members!
To achieve our goals, we prioritize health and temperament above all else. All of our hip, elbow, and eye results are publicly available on the OFA database. On any dog's profile, there should be a link that directly takes you to their OFA entry. You can also search the OFA database by using their registered name! For genetic diseases, we utilize the standard Aussie panel with Paw Print Genetics. We require the same level of testing from any Aussies we bring ours to.
We match our puppies to our buyers based on each puppy's individual traits and the buyer's description of what they are looking for in their puppy. Our litters will have themed names that are only for their time with us; we don't require your chosen registered name fit a particular theme. Currently, we are estimating our first litter's puppies to cost around $2-2.5k. Our goals for all of our litters are to produce Aussies that are easy to live with and eager to work with you. Though our own passion is agility, we make our matches with the intention for our puppies to be able to excel in their family's chosen sport. As you'll see from their pages, we participate in barn hunt, herding, rally, dock diving, and fast CAT in addition to agility.
